AUSTIN – It’s official, College GameDay is heading to Austin, Texas for the first time in a decade.
While it seemed like the obvious for the majority of the offseason, blowout victories by both No. 6 LSU and No. 10 Texas all but settled the decision for next week’s destination.
This will be GameDay’s first trip to Austin since the 2009 season when Lee Corso & Co. came down for then-No. 2 Texas’ matchup with Texas Tech.
Colt McCoy’s squad led the Longhorns to a 34-24 win over the Red Raiders en route to their trip to the 2009 national championship game.
This matchup, which should feature a pair of top-10 teams, was the second-most expensive ticket into a college football game this offseason, only behind Notre Dame’s trip to Georgia.
This news likely won’t help out those looking for a dip in prices right before kickoff.
