College football scores, top 25 rankings, schedule, NCAA games: Clemson, Georgia, LSU dominate warm-up games

Rivalry week was certainly a week of rivalry, but surprisingly, it wasn’t a week of carnage. Only two teams in the top 10 took a loss this week, and neither were in the top four of the College Football Playoff Rankings. In fact, every team in the top four won by at least 29 points.  No. 1 Ohio State’s 56-27 win over No. 13 Michigan was the most exciting game of the bunch, while No. 2 LSU crushed Texas A&M 50-7. The Tigers out-gained the Aggies 553 yards to 169, with Joe Burrow throwing for 352 yards and three touchdowns all while becoming the SEC’s single-season passing yardage record holder in the process. No. 3 Clemson put a whooping on South Carolina as well, cruising to a 38-3 victory. The Tigers had 527 yards of offense to South Carolina’s 174 with Trevor Lawrence throwing for 295 yards and leading the team in rushing with 66 on the ground as well.

Then there was No. 4 Georgia, which showed the world that, believe it or not, it can score points. The Bulldogs put a 50-burger on the Bees, beating Georgia Tech 52-7. Of course, though, the biggest story from the game might have been a shoulder injury suffered by running back D’Andre Swift. Then there was receiver George Pickens, who sat out the first half for disciplinary reasons, and was then ejected in the second half for throwing a punch which will cause him to miss the first half of next week’s SEC title game with LSU.

There was a lot to cover with those games and everything in between. CBS Sports was here every step of the way to update you with the latest scores, highlights and storylines throughout the day. All times Eastern
